Casio UK has renewed its total UK supply chain operation with Yusen Logistics. Yusen Logistics partnership with Casio spans over 25 years and this renewal will see both organisations extend the partnership to over 30 years. Yusen Logistics handles Casio’s full range of products destined for both the consumer and business markets, which includes digital pianos, cash registers, watches, calculators and digital projectors. Key to the operation’s continued success is Yusen’s expertise in added value services which include managing seasonal peaks such as Casio’s “back to school” campaign, with an increased requirement for labelling, bundling and preparation for presentation for retailers. The Casio operation also includes inbound container planning, customs clearance and delivery from port and warehousing based at one of Yusen Logistics’ high security distribution centres in the UK. Yusen Logistics has commenced operations from its new distribution facility in the heart of the East Midlands Gateway in Northampton. The additional cross-dock facility has been commissioned to supply the ongoing growth and development of the Yusen shared user delivery network. The operation utilises 85,000 sqft and will contribute to the Yusen Logistics continued expansion throughout the UK. The new cross dock facility will provide a hub service for ‘white goods’ customers and the Yusen Logistics pallet network for general goods and will provide an efficient and cost-effective solution to all customers who can now benefit from Yusen Logistics consolidated trunking service which is actively targeting the reduction of the number of vehicles on the road.
Yusen Logistics has commenced operations from its new shared user warehousing and distribution facility in Wolverton, Milton Keynes. The new distribution facility will initially service one core customer, who due to their continuing growth are expanding the current range of services provided by Yusen Logistics. The Wolverton operation will utilise 218,000 sqft and further contributes to Yusen Logistics continued expansion throughout the UK demonstrating their ongoing commitment to customers across their portfolio. The Wolverton site is owned by one of Yusen Logistics existing customers, who approached Yusen to generate new customers within the building. Yusen Logistics have taken full responsibility for the site in order to support the growth of one of their industrial customers. The Wolverton site gives Yusen Logistics further growth opportunities, with 50,000 sqft currently available for occupation from April 2020.
